Challenges

For most students who have done a Bikram Yoga Challenge it then easily becomes a permanent part of their lives. By deciding to join a challenge, you make space in your head. Space you normally use for decision making around ‘do I take class today or not?” You will see that this alone gives a lot of energy.

Individual Challenge: make a shift
Take some time to notice something in particular about your practice. Is there a habit that you notice you always do every class? Is there a particular posture that you skip every time? Talk to the teachers, they can help you find something. Then just make up your mind to shift this thing you notice in some way over a set period of time like a couple of weeks or 30 days. You’ll be both surprised and delighted at what you find.
Consistency over time challenge
This is best challenge to work on. It is much better for your development and health to just be consistent overtime. A good marker to aim for is 3 x per week to see and experience the benefits of a regular yoga practice. Think of your yoga practice as a gas station; you come to fill up your tank, once your tank is full and you keep up a consistent practice you just end up with a bigger tank. So sometimes a yoga challenge can help stimulate you to do this. But it is better for you to show up for 2 x per week over many years, rather than a 100 day challenge to never return again.
