Jeane
Without Bikram Yoga I would never have been able to sustain my demanding career.
When I started in 2000 in Brazil with Iyengar Yoga, I was on the stage eight times a week with the musical The Lion King. To constantly perform at such a high level without being injured, I had to keep my body and mind in top condition. I did that with yoga.
First lesson
In 2004 a colleague took me to my first Bikram Yoga class in the studio in Amsterdam. Lydia taught and afterwards I knew that this yoga would change my life. Bikram Yoga offers both the tools and the challenge to optimally use my body in my work. Without Bikram Yoga I would never have been able to sustain my demanding career.
From student to teacher
Inspired by my Parisian teacher Marine Ochin I followed in 2010 the Bikram Yoga Teacher Training. Meanwhile, I was still working in the professional dance world, but now as a Dance Captain. I was responsible for training 64 dancers and had to be able to dance the whole choreography myself as a substitute. With this enormous challenge, I needed yoga more than ever.
Teaching Yoga
I then practiced Bikram Yoga and taught in Singapore and from there I came back to the Netherlands. At this moment, I can happily concentrate fully on my career as a teacher, so that I can share my love for what this yoga does with as many people as possible. Through my lessons I want to support the healing process of body and mind with others. That is a great experience, not least because of the many different people who keep inspiring me again and again.
