Yoeroeke
Yoga has become a way of life for me: I want to keep growing and become more and more aware of who I am and what I do.
I discovered Bikram Yoga in 2005 when I was traveling in California. I already did other forms of yoga; Ashtanga, Vinyasa flow and Kundalini, and from my childhood my father taught me Raja Yoga, a yoga of the mind. Bikram Yoga connects you with your body and with your mind, for me this is the perfect combination.
Bikram Yoga school in Den Haag
Back in the Netherlands I immediately went to a school. It was 2005 and there was only one in our country, so I went from The Hague to the Bikram Yoga School in Amsterdam three or four times a week to take classes. You can probably imagine how enthusiastic I was when Lydia opened her Bikram Yoga Den Haag in early 2006.
From student to teacher
In 2007 I followed the Bikram Yoga Teacher Training and since then I teach. Three times I participated in the International Yoga Asana Championships in the USA. As part of this, I trained with Senior Bikram Yoga teacher Mary Jarvis in San Francisco and met so many dedicated yogis from all over the world. Thanks to all this, I learned a lot about myself and the Bikram Yoga benefits.
Teaching Yoga
Yoga has become a way of life for me: I want to keep growing and become more and more aware of who I am and what I do. Teaching and seeing how others become healthier and happier, I find great. I am glad that I can inspire others to a deepening of their practice, regardless of the level at which they started.
Bikram Yoga beginner’s tip
Remember that Bikram Yoga is also for the mind. It is precisely the intense physicality that forces you to approach the lesson as an active meditation.
